The following section gives some guidance on both formal and informal activities for Eye for Colour, with suggested workshops and activities.
Education Activities summary
Colour & Light Session (Schools KS2)
This is a demonstrator lead activity and lasts approximately 45 minutes with a series of interactive demonstrations and a Power Point presentation illustrating the following subject areas:
- Heat experiment
- What is light?
- How does light travel?
- Refraction (bending of light)
- Splitting light into colour
- Colours in the sky
- Reflection and absorption – how the eye sees colour
- Primary colours – hot and cold colours
Colour & Light Family Show
This is a demonstrator lead activity and lasts approximately 30 minutes. The show will include some simple experiments that will demonstrate some of the underlying principles behind the science involved, many of these can also be performed at home.
