On January 24th 2020 Shanghai Science Centre closed to the public because of spread of a new coronavirus disease.
On February 11th 2020, WHO announced a name for the new coronavirus disease: COVID-19.
We are pleased to know that on March 11th Shanghai Science Centre saw a return to work for their staff.
On March 13th the first visitor arrived with the press in attendance, and will operate with up to 30% capacity.
Whilst shut, they created an exhibition called Dancing Ghosts on COVID-19.
ASDC are in contact with ASTC and have taken part in their COVID-19 call on 13 March.
We can confirm as of Friday 13th March around 10 - 20 % of US Science Centres have undertaken a temporary closure due to coronavirus. They noted similar issues around financial impact as had been raised in the UK.
