On Wednesday March 18th the ASDC coronavirus meeting with 45 senior staff from across the UK focussed on the HR, financial planning and wider impacts around these closures.
On Thursday 19th, ASDC agreed a way with BEIS to put in submission for emergency measures to science centres. ASDC then collected and collated information from 15 centres and put in an bid for £34 million to BEIS.
On Friday 20th a financial 80% package was announced for furloughed staff in certain sectors.
This week Science Centres have been working with HR and Staff to furlough staff.
Dr Penny Fidler, CEO of ASDC is collecting data from across the sector and will submit a proposal for a Resilience and Re-opening Fund for UK Science Centres.
The Agenda for the April 1st meeting will be set by participants.
