ASDC Members' Forum: Safety and Security
Safety and security are paramount to all visitor attractions. This session is for general managers, operations managers, front of house and facilities teams to come together to discuss the safety and security policies, training and management in your organisations.
On the agenda:
- Security v Openness – How visible should security be to our visitors. Is there a risk we may deter visitors if they feel we are a target?
- Terrorism threat v Criminal activity – The most likely risk to the centre is from criminal activity rather than terrorism, but the later has the potential to have the greatest impact.
- Visitor v Staff expectations – What do our visitors and staff expect from our security measures, a safe place to visit and work? How do they contribute to this?
- Theoretical v Actual implementation – What budgets are we working to, what priority is it in the centre view and does this match it’s allocated budget?
Speakers: Neil Shorrock, General Manager at the National Space Centre and Dean Loughran, Head of Operations at the National Science and Media Museum.
Please note this is a members-only session.
