Wednesday 11th February 2026, 2-3pm
About this forum:
In celebration of LGBT+ History Month's 2026 theme: Science & Innovation, this forum is dedicated to discussing how science and discovery centres, organisations and museums can be inclusive spaces for visitors and staff.
We will be joined by Schools OUT, the charity who founded LGBT+ History Month, and Dr Dom Galliano for this Members' Forum. We will discuss this month's theme, LGBTQ+ active allyship, and how this can be implemented in your organisation. We will additionally have a safe space for a Q&A session and discussion to include questions you may have around language, inclusion, and the different identities in the community.
What to expect:
You'll leave with a foundational understanding of the history of LGBT+ month, why it is important and relevant to your organisation, and examples of inclusive practices for your organisation. You can have your questions answered (including anonymously) that you may not have felt comfortable asking before regarding the LGBTQ+ community in our facilitated Q&A.
Schedule:
2:00-2:05 - Welcome
2:05-2:25 - Session by Schools OUT: What UK LGBT+ History Month is, this year's theme & why it is important
2:25-2:45 - Session by Dr Dom Galliano on active allyship and being LGBTQ+ inclusive in organisations
2:45-3:00 - Q&A Session with Dr Dr Dom Galliano for Science & Discovery Centres & Museums (feel free to submit anonymous questions in advance using the below link).
