The Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) is the charity that brings together the UK’s regional science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) learning organisations to play a strategic role in the nation’s engagement with science. Within the ASDC network are over 60 of the largest publicly accessible science and discovery centres, science museums, eco attractions and research and innovation hubs.

Every year ASDC members encourage more diverse participation in science, engaging with over 25 million people of all ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities. Our collective vision is for a society where science is accessible, inclusive and valued by all as a fundamental part of everyday life.

Our World From Space phase 2 transforms how communities see space science

More than 12,000 young people, families and community members across the UK have taken part in hands-on space science activities through the latest phase of the Our World From Space programme, a strategic UK-wide STEM engagement programme designed to explore the relevance of space science to everyday life and the long-term sustainability of planet Earth.

Next Gen Earth project showcase

In March, ASDC held the Next Gen Earth end-of-project showcase at Brunel’s SS Great Britain in Bristol, bringing together project leads, community partners and collaborators from across the UK. The event celebrated the achievements of nine youth-led programmes, each working with young people to promote agency and ownership in environmental science through co-created place-based engagements.
