The Astronomy Operations Officer will manage the coordination, administration and facilitation of learning activity and associated outputs, as well as contributing to more complex event and outputs at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. The role will also work cross-departmentally and cross-site at Royal Museums Greenwich, providing administrative support to the Participation and Engagement, Digital and Data, and Education and Outreach and Heritage teams, collect and record learner numbers for the formal learning activity and assist with program evaluation for DCMS and Senior Managers.
Key responsibilities include acting as event co-ordinator for education and public activities and events for the Astronomy Engagement Team, contributing to scheduling staff delivery duties, making sure all necessary delivery, co-ordination, and back-up roles are fulfilled for events and activities, line manage the part-time, zero-hour and volunteer staff for astronomy engagement events and delivery, and supporting recruitment of new staff.
