The Science Education Coordinator plays a key role in delivering the Crick’s strategy to engage and inspire the public, helping to grow and diversify the community of people who aspire to careers in STEM and/or are engaged with science and the Crick.
Reporting to the Education Operations Manager, you’ll deliver practical, hands-on science workshops in schools and in our dedicated onsite outreach laboratory, inspiring children and young people aged 5–18 through engaging activities linked to the National Curriculum and current research at the Crick. You’ll also deliver careers-focused learning activities, helping young people explore the wide range of opportunities available in science, research and STEM.
As a Science Education Coordinator, you’ll also provide administrative and project support to the Education and Community Outreach team and wider Public Engagement function. You’ll support community events, science shows and local festivals, while helping with areas such as workshop logistics, resources, databases and finance administration. You’ll also play an important role in championing equality, diversity and inclusion, working with colleagues to ensure our public engagement activities are accessible, inclusive and welcoming to as wide an audience as possible.
