In this role, you will support the development of partnerships and relationships across railway, aviation, and transport heritage sectors.
This will include Accredited and non-Accredited museums, aviation and railway preservation groups and societies, heritage railways, and transport and industrial heritage organisations.
Building on the success of our extensive existing partnerships with heritage railways you will act as a point of contact for museums, heritage, and other relevant organisations that have supersize and large objects on loan or have the potential to care for them in the long term.
Working with Curatorial; Registration; Conservation; Hazards Management; Rail Engineering and Operations; and Storage, Access, and Logistic teams, you will be responsible for liaising with current and new borrowers and potential transfer recipients, sustaining and developing relationships with museums and other heritage organisations, understanding project requirements, and monitoring performance.
This role is a fixed term contract until April 2027. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based either at the National Railway Museum in York or the Science & Innovation Park in Swindon. You will be required to travel to different museums and heritage transport organisations two to three times a month, so a clean driving licence is required for the role.
