ASDC awards 15 grants for ‘Our World From Space: Phase 2’ programme
- Published: 6 Nov 2025
The ASDC project team has awarded grants to 15 members in a second phase of the Our World From Space programme, to engage new audiences with an understanding of space science’s role in our everyday lives and for the future health and sustainability of our planet.
The programme is funded by the UK Space Agency and to date has had a significant national reach, engaging with over 263,847 individual participants across the UK.
This new phase will build upon the themes, approaches and learning from Our World From Space, with an aim to reach diverse audiences across the UK by leveraging the ASDC network to engage and inspire young people, their families and key influences with cutting edge UK space science. Delivery partners will focus on strengthening connections with regional communities, especially reaching marginalised audiences traditionally underrepresented in STEM and the space industry and research.
Shaaron Leverment, ASDC Chief Executive
“Our World From Space re-focusses the value of space science and innovation from a perception of being distant or irrelevant, to being deeply connected to everyday life and the future health of our planet. We are thrilled to have the continued support of the UK Space Agency to create more inspirational experiences and opportunities to broaden horizons for young people across the UK.”
The science centres, museums and STEM organisations running Our World From Space: Phase 2 programmes are:
- Aero Space Kinross
- Dundee Science Centre
- Dynamic Earth
- Exeter Science Centre
- Explorer Dome
- Glasgow Science Centre
- Jodrell Bank
- Life Science Centre
- National Space Centre
- Observatory Science Centre

The projects include space themed workshops, planetarium shows, family days, meet the astronomer/expert sessions, drop-in community events, telescope sessions, live demos, twilight workshops and science busking. Community partners will include uniform groups, fostering networks, single parent family voluntary groups, rural libraries, disability groups, home educators and community group schemes.
Cait Campbell, Project Director
“Our World From Space brings together a diverse cohort of science centres, museums and outreach organisations who are using space science to engage communities nationwide. This next phase will deepen that impact, engaging with underserved audiences, challenging perceptions of space science, and demonstrating how the UK’s space sector can inspire real understanding, ambition, and action across society.”
