Celebrating British Science Week 2026
- Published: 11 Mar 2026
The theme for British Science Week 2026, ‘Curiosity: what’s your question?’, is all about encouraging people to embrace their passions, find the answers to their most burning STEM questions.
As part of our British Science Week celebrations, we’re spotlighting our latest space programme ‘Our World From Space’, with a question from ESA Reserve Astronauts Dr Meganne Christian and John McFall:
Where will your journey of inspiration and curiosity take you?
Dr Meganne Christian is Exploration Commercialisation Lead at the UK Space Agency, and John McFall is a former Paralympian and orthopaedic surgeon on a mission to help open up spaceflight to people with disabilities. Here they talk about their work and passion inspiring others and helping to shape the next adventures in space. The video was recorded to support delivery of the Our World From Space programme, with science centres and museums showing it to the children, families, schools and community groups as part of the activities and events happening around the UK.
Our World From Space is a national STEM engagement programme created to inspire and empower a society that embraces the value and relevance of space science for everyday life, and the sustainable future of our planet. About to complete phase 2, this programme has reached diverse audiences across the UK focusing on awe, wonder, inspiration and relevance to increase audiences’ understanding, engagement and sense of ownership in relation to space science.
This programme is funded by the UK Space Agency in partnership with the NERC: Natural Environment Research Council, part of UK Research and Innovation.
