The Next Gen Earth training sessions will be taking place online over three dates, covering the following topics:
16th July 11am-1pm: Evaluation with OnData Research
- Introduction to the Next Gen Earth external evaluators Laura Thomas director of OnData Research and Dr Charlotte Thorley, freelancer.
- Aims of the evaluation
- Reporting requirements and data collection
- Ethics and consent
23rd July 10am-12pm: Equity for youth engagement
This session will include a talk on equitable youth engagement from Louise Archer, Professor of Sociology of Education at the University College London.
Plus:
- An introduction to the equity compass
- Group activity
30th July 1pm-3pm: NERC science, researchers and resources
This session will include:
- Spotlight on key environmental science topics
- Youth programme case study from Kew Gardens- hear about how they set up and run their Model COP and are now developing it into a fully youth-led programme
- An intro to ASDC’s new Working with Researcher’s guide co-written by Helen Featherstone, University of Bath and Katie Weldon, Science Ceilidh. Katie will join us to talk through some of the key learnings from their Curiosity in Action programme
