Space Community of Practice: Mini space grants
Would you like to plan a space science engagement around International Day of Women and girls in Science (11th February 2026), or LGBT+ History Month? We are particularly interested in engaging diverse audiences on topics of high public interest. This may be the threat of asteroids, space sustainability, or other themes from our space community calls such as the dark universe OR future space missions, in search of habitable planets. As part of our Space Community of Practice, ASDC is collaborating with the UK Space Agency to provide five mini space engagement grants of up to £500 each, to facilitate such an event.

We are looking for inspiring and fun ideas to communicate the wonder of space science in connection with one of the above themes. It can be a planetarium show, an open evening, workshop (delivered in person or online), screening or even pop up event. The event must take place during February 2026 and be open to the public to attend.
The grant can be used for a speaker fee, items of kit for a workshop or science show, and/or additional staff time to run the event/engagement.
If you would like to apply for the mini grant please complete the application form below by 9th January 2026.

Following delivery, we will require a short summary of how the grant was used, plus at least 2 decent photographs of delivery and the audience metrics for the event/engagement.
Please note that any grant claim can not have VAT added.
If you would like to apply for the grant, please complete the application form linked below.
