Travel to the conference

Sustainability is one of ASDC's core values. We therefore encourage delegates to travel sustainably where possible. This year the conference is being hosted by Techniquest in Cardiff which is easily accessed by national rail services.

Arriving by train

Cardiff Central train station is a 10 minute bus journey or 25 minute walk from the station.
To get to Techniquest from Cardiff Central, you can take the BayCar (Service 6) from the Cardiff Bus Interchange (near the station) to Cardiff Bay. Specific details for your journey include:

  • Departure Point: Cardiff Bus Interchange (Bay 1) or Customhouse Street.
  • Drop-off Point: The Flourish or Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay.
  • Travel Time: 8–10 minutes.
  • Frequency: Every 10–20 minutes.

Arriving by car:

There is no parking available on-site at Techniquest for visitors, other than an accessible space which can be booked in advance via info@techniquest.org / 029 2047 5475.

Please do not park on Havannah Street itself.

Event sustainability

Sustainability is one of ASDC's core values and we work hard to try to make our events as sustainable as possible.

Actions we have taken to make this event more sustainable:

  • Our programme is fully digital - we don't print anything unless completely necessary for a session
  • We cater vegetarian food only throughout the event
  • Water stations will be provided for use with a refillable bottle
  • There will be recycling points available
  • We engage with local suppliers where possible such as AV, photographer, speical additions to the programme
  • We encourage sustainable travel and consider the venue location when choosing to enable this
  • We encourage conversations around climate and sustainability during the conference, including specific sessions and speakers
