ASDC May Members' Forum: Sector data trends and insights
Wednesday 13th May, 2pm-3pm
ASDC has gathered key benchmarking, audience trend data, and the challenges and ambitions ahead from the sector in our annual sector survey. Sent to Chief Executives and senior leaders across the membership, the survey offers an up-to-date snapshot of the science and discovery centre, museum and outreach sector.
This year’s forum will go further, placing our sector data alongside two major national evidence bases: the UKRI Public Attitudes to Science survey and CaSE Public Attitudes to R&D data. Together, these sources offer a powerful picture of how organisations are addressing the evidenced issues around how the public view science, as well as how the sector can respond to public expectations in a changing landscape.
In addition, we are delighted to be joined by Kimberley Freeman, Head of Public Engagement at the Royal Society.
On 19th May the Royal Society will be publishing its Science for Society report, exploring and expanding on the themes from the original “Bodmer report” that was so influential for the science communication and engagement sector 40 years ago. For an exciting preview ahead of publication, and specifically for our network, join this forum to find out what their research has to share about the Informal Science Engagement sector and beyond.
Come along to explore what data tells us, consider its implications for practice and policy, and make the most of this shared evidence to inform your own planning and decision-making.
