Tuesday 10th February, 8am - 10am
Join ASDC members and Demystifying AI project partners to learn more about the key impacts and risks of AI to be aware of in 2026. During this 2-hour breakfast briefing we'll be discussing anything AI-related; from the basics of how it actually works, to the social and ethical implications, safety and security.
Breakfast Briefing: Responsible answers to AI questions (from you and your visitors!)
How does AI work? What sort of AI are we actually talking about? (Generative AI? Predictive AI? Machine learning?) What are AI's real environmental and social impacts? Should I let my kids use ChatGPT unsupervised? What about Character AI? How are AI companions different from social media? How can we use chatbots as real learning tools, rather than relying on them to do the work for us? How can I tell if an AI’s output is real/true/reliable or not? What are the most responsible ways to use AI?
These are just some of the questions you and your visitors must be asking themselves as the AI hype train hurtles on, just over three years after the groundbreaking launch of ChatGPT. Today, it’s everywhere. But are its main providers telling us the whole truth about it? If not, how can we encourage critical thinking about it? The answer, of course, is through science-based facts, and unbiased analysis of AI’s true risks and impacts.
In this exclusive Breakfast Briefing, Responsible AI expert James Martin (Founder, BetterTech) answers all of the above questions and more, submitted by ASDC Demystifying AI project partners both before and during this two hour session. He will answer your and your visitors' most frequently asked questions, so you can be ready for almost anything. Don’t miss it!
Please email your questions in advance to allow our speaker to prepare answers and relevant links for further information.
