Sharing Science Shows: Introduction

The Association for Science and Discovery Centres is facilitating the sharing of science shows and demonstrations between centres and practitioners in the UK. The show resources include all the materials to allow you to produce your own show. If you have a show to share, do contact us.

Please contact The Association for Science and Discovery Centres (contact form) to discuss your show. Brief guidelines for the resources it would be most useful to share are listed below.

Possible contents of resource pack

  • Script
  • Props list
  • Health and safety guidelines
  • Sample risk assessment
  • Marketing techniques - things that worked for you
  • Indication of staff time required to develop and train for the show
  • Sources of materials - include contact details
  • Expert speakers - include contact details
  • Show graphics (images or Powerpoint slides for example), or name of contact
  • List of specialist items that your centre would be able to supply (for a fee)
  • Problems encountered / lessons learned
  • Evaluation results
