The ASDC board of Trustees is comprised of 8 to 16 professionals who are committed to the mission and values of ASDC, representing leadership both within and beyond our membership. The Board works with the Chief Executive to drive the strategy and vision of ASDC.
Each year Trustee elections are held at The ASDC AGM.
For 2026, this will be held online at 1.30pm on 16th September 2026.
Trustees serve a three year term and then stand for re-election if they wish. This sets up a rotation of Trustees that gives all ASDC member organisations the opportunity to stand for election to the ASDC Board and to help shape the direction of this national strategic organisation.

Sue Wardle, Chief Executive, Techniquest
I have had the privilege of leading Techniquest, Wales' largest science discovery centre, since 2024. Our mission is simple: to inspire curiosity and make science accessible to everyone. Through hands-on experiences, we help young people see science as something they can enjoy, understand and potentially pursue as a future career.
My career spans the private, public and charitable sectors, and I have spent much of it creating partnerships, securing investment and widening access to opportunity. Having worked in both arts and science organisations, I have seen first-hand the strong links between creativity, curiosity and discovery, and the power of both to enrich lives and inspire future generations.
Manifesto
Science centres are more important than ever. At a time when public trust in evidence, access to opportunity and investment in education are under pressure, our sector provides welcoming spaces where people can explore, question and discover. We play a vital role in inspiring curiosity, building confidence and connecting people with science in meaningful ways.
If elected as an ASDC Trustee, I will champion the collective impact of our sector, support collaboration between members, and help strengthen our voice with governments, funders and policymakers.
A particular priority for me is ensuring that children and young people can access inspiring science experiences regardless of their income, geography or background. Curiosity and opportunity should never depend on where you live or the circumstances into which you are born.
